Vacation houses, Gljufur - South Iceland

Vacation houses are lodges of highest quality where the comfort of the guests is the prime interest. Each house has beds for 6-8 adults; 2-3 double beds and 2 single, thermal blankets, pillows, shower, spa-pool, TV, video-recorder, radio/CD, propane-grill, garden-furniture on a screened veranda, refrigerator with freezer, electric stove, tableware, and high quality furniture.

Our Vacation houses are located high on a hillside with a wide panorama view overlooking the Ölfus - region in SoutWest Iceland towards the coast and the villages Eyrarbakki, Stokkseyri and Þorlákshöfn. Distance between the lodges is wide to secure individual space and privacy.

Located in a tranquil environment

The Gljúfur - Vacation houses are located in a tranquil environment outside of the main traffic, but only a short way from main routes and towns.

Approx. distances: 2 km. to highway nr. 1. 7 km. to Hveragerði. 10 km. to Selfoss and 45 km. to Reykjavík.

Hiking-routes in the area

Interesting hiking-routes are at the doorstep and in the near by Hengill-recreation area, on well marked paths.

Various other recreational possibilities

In the next neighbourhood you will find various recreational possibilities, such as thermal swimming pools, golf-courses, stream and lake angling and horse-rentals.

The duration of a stay at the Gljúfur - Vacation houses depends on the individual customers whishes. Most common are weekends or a period of one week. Guests have to bring bedsheets and towels.

All other regular utensils are provided for in the houses. Guests are supposed to leave the houses cleaned on departure. Bedsheets, towels and cleaning on departure day can be obtained, at additional cost.

Pets are not allowed in the houses.
