At the end of the 19th century Seyðisfjörður was a blooming town thanks to the efforts of Norwegian herring entrepreneurs. Back then a lot of Norwegian wooden houses were erected, Hotel Aldan being one of them. Originally build as a hotel, it was considered to be one of the best in the whole country.
Our reception, restaurant and souvenir shop are situated in one of Iceland’s oldest stores, still treasuring interiors since 1920. Now more than a century later, the houses have been restored to their former splendour.
