Hotel Raudaskrida is located in the center of the well grown, mature valley of Adaldalur. From Rauðaskriða is just a short drive to some of Iceland’s most renowned beauty spots. (Godafoss, Myvatn and Dettifoss).

Enjoy our delicious meals, where you can choose between daily offers as well as from an “a la carte” menu, served in the bright, spacious restaurant overlooking the beautiful countryside. Full bar/table license. Packed lunches are also available.

Leisure activities include hot tub and free use of mountain bikes. Excellent position for trips to Goðafoss, Mývatn, Ásbyrgi, Dettifoss and the whale watching tours in Skjálfandi Bay, where sea angling is also a possibility. A super location for birdwaching, with the Famous lake Mývatn and the Laxá river in the area – haunts of the Barrow’s Goldeney and Harlequin species, to name but two. In Rauðaskriða it self there is a shed for birdwaching, where almost 40 species can be seen during the summer Horseback riding can be arranged in the vicinity

We are open all year. From 20th of September until the 20th of May, advance booking is necessary. In June, July and August, the reception is open 24 hours a day, as long as our guests are in the area.
