Sightseeing excursions Suðureyja Excursion. This is our most popular tour: we explore the natural paradise of Breiðafjörður fjord where we’ll observe a fantastic variety of bird life, including puffins, eider ducks, kittiwakes, fulmars and the white-tailed eagle. We sail through tidal currents, see some very strangely shaped cliffs and enjoy the exhilarating peacefulness of entering a world of wildlife thriving in its own natural environment. Another interesting aspect of the area is that the difference between high and low tides is greater than anywhere else in Iceland. A high point of the trip is when we cast-out a small net-plough and drag the seabed for some shellfish delicacies. Everyone gets the chance to taste shellfish and sea-urchin roe that just doesn’t get any fresher. Departure daily between 1 May - 30 September. Duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes. Between 1 October - 30 April this tour is available to groups.
Price: Ikr. 3.450 per person.

The area Snæfellsnes is a peninsula in west Iceland situated between Faxaflói bay and Breiðafjörður fjord. It is an area known for its varieties of exotic beauty, including towering mountains, the most famous of which is cone-shaped Snæfellsjökull glacier (1446 m). The coastline around the peninsula is as varied as it is spectacular, with long, sandy beaches, incredible craggy bluffs, caves, bird cliffs, rhyolite mountains, expansive lava fields, volcanoes, geothermal heat and mineral springs. Breiðafjörður fjord is a natural paradise, with amazing varieties of birdlife and landscapes. It is said that the islands and skerries of Breiðafjörður are innumerable, and there is much truth to this due to the ebb and flow of tides.
