Highlander Adventures started organising and executing excursions for tourists around Iceland in the year of 1994. The number of passengers has risen every year and in the year 2002 they were 1820

The company offers day-tours and a two day tours to various locations every day of the week during the summer season. We travel in small, exclusive groups of maximum 11 passengers. All our excursions start from Reykjavík early in the morning and we return before dinner time. During the two day trip we stay over in a mountain hut and passengers are provided with full pension and a sleeping bag. Our vehicles are specially equipped four-wheel drive jeeps as most of the routes take us "beyond" Road nr. 1. We can as well arrange a wide range of vehicles from five seated jeeps to seventy-two seated buses. An English speaking guide on all excursions, as well as any common language preferred.

Highlander Adventures also handles longer trips across the highland of Iceland such as four and five day trips and nine day trips. Departure for the five day trip is every week (Mondays) and twenty six departure dates have been decided for the nine days trip. They are: 1., 8., 15., 21. and 29. July and 5., 12., 19. and 26. August with German speaking guide, 1., 8., 22., 29. July and 5., 19. and 26. August with an English speaking guide, 4., 18., July and 1. and 15. August with an Italian speaking guide. 25., 8. July and 12 and 22. Agust with a Dutch speaking guide. All these days have two groups departing.

Highlander Adventures has met the rising need on organizing all kind of group tours during twelve months a year. We can offer a wide range of service such as river-rafting, horse-back riding, snow scooter rides on glaciers, boat trips and jeep tours. We can offer guides for the most common languages on request.

Highlander Adventures specializes in services for groups and incentives as well as special occasion tours to Iceland in connection with, weddings, hunting, angling, sheep round-up, survival trips, scouting excursions, camping, hiking and more.

All members of the family are taken into account on our Family Friendly program. Everyone will return feeling it was their own custom-made vacation. Accomodations include playgrounds, horses and other animals, swimmingpools, the opportunity to go fishing and much, much more.

The owner of Highlander Adventures is a veteran out-door man with over thirty years of valuable experience as a hiker, horse rider, driver and a tour guide for various sizes and makes of groups. His elaborate experience f.e. as a consultant on maps published by Landmaelingar Íslands is a valuable asset when organising trips into the highland of Iceland.
